Handling notes from the studio
Sunflower heads are heavy and the stems are thick and fibrous, so our florists cut them at a steep angle and strip the lower leaves completely rather than just trimming — submerged sunflower foliage breaks down fast in Singapore’s heat and clouds the vase within a day. That is also why a bouquet arrives with a slight natural curve in the stem: young sunflowers track the sun as they grow, and we arrange around that curve so every bloom faces outward once delivered.
